Its origins begin with the Sangiovese Grosso, a robust and generous grape type.
Its attributes are expressed in time: a period of aging in oak vats and a lengthly period of fining in the bottle.
Brunello di Montalcino has a distinctive intense ruby red color, tending to carnet with age, with notable scents of rich fruit and spices; on the palate the taste is uniquely characteristic of Montalcino. A superb wine to accompany roasted red meats and wild game – it is suggested that the bottle, depending on the vintage, be opened several hours before serving.
Serve at 18-20°C.

| Situated to the south of Montalcino, 400 metres above sea level, the Verbena farmstead extends along the Via Traversa dei Monti for around 23 hectares, divided into vineyards, olive groves and woodland.
The countryside around Montalcino, a particularly harsh but generous land, is suitable for cultivating greatly esteemed wine and oil of the highest quality.
And since it was founded, the Verbena farm has opted for quality, immediately gaining a top position in the art of Tuscan wine making.
And this has given rise to the farm's Brunello and Rosso di Montalcino wines, Brunello grappa, Vin Santo and extra-virgin olive oil.
These marvellous products, sold all over the world, are the result of the hard work and commitment of the Nannetti family, who in recent years have concentrated on promoting the company name.
On visiting our cellars and cultivations, you can see that wine-making still requires a great sacrifice. |
