Vineyards: two vineyards in Bevagna, one in cru Arquata at 230m height on clay calcareous soil exposure south, one in cru Colcimino at 360m height on sandy clay calcareous soil north west exposure. Plant density 3000-5000 per hectare
Description: it pours a strong straw yellow colour. The aroma is elegant, marked by a delicate minerality enhanced by notes of peach, almond and hay. It is full-bodied and well-structured and holds a vivid acidity and an intense fruit-washed finish. As a young wine it is well-structured, balanced and mellow, yet holds interesting surprises after ageing. It is fermented and stored in stainless steel tanks.
It can accompany a wide variety of dishes: pulse and grain soups, superior cured meats, fresh or stretched curd cheeses and white meats. Interesting with pasta, grilled fish and shellfish
Harvest: handmade in mid-september
Vinification: grapes are crushed and de-stemmed. Soft pressing and fermentation in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature 15-17 °C. 4 months “sur lies” maturation.
Cantine Adanti is one of the historic cellars of the Montefalco area in Umbria, famous for its wines protected as Sagrantino and Montefalco Rosso.
It covers about 40 hectares of land, of which 30 to vineyards and 10 to olive groves, located in the hilly areas of Arquata and Colcimino, famous since ancient times for its high quality of olive oil and wine.
The company was founded in the years 60s of the last century, when Domenico Adanti decides to buy the villa Arquata beginning the renovation of the old convent of the Friars Celestine, built on the ruins of the Roman period and then the late Renaissance, and performing at once the replanting of old vines and plant new ones.
I Nostri Prodotti
The winery produces mainly red wines from indigenous grapes, Sagrantino di Montefalco DOCG dry and sweet, and then the Montefalco Rosso DOC and the Red Arquata Umbria IGT, but also continues to produce the characteristic white wines such as the Grechetto and the Montefalco Bianco. The grapes used, mainly varieties Sangiovese and Sagrantino, but also Cabernet, Barbera, Merlot and Grechetto, come exclusively from estate vineyards.
Today the actual owners of the farm, Pietro, Daniela e Donatella Adanti still aim for a quality production of selected wines and extra virgin olive oil, constantly turning the utmost care to all its products, in respect of the territory and its ancient traditions.
