AREA OF PRODUCTION: A selection of the very best grapes from various vineyards across the commune of Monteforte d’Alpone

HARVEST: late picked (end of October) for maximum body and extract

TOTAL PRODUCTION: 90 quintals per hectare

UNFILTERED: This wine did not go through filtration and was clarified naturally by racking. The usual sterile micro-filtration was not performed before bottling, since the malolactic fermentation in barrel helps to prevent the possibility of destabilization of the wine.

WINE MAKING PROCESS: Half wine is fermented in 225 lt barriques, half wine in 20 hl barrels, where it is also left to mature on lees for 6-8 months

TASTING NOTE: Rich golden yellow in colour. Intense, lingering bouquet; scented with wild flowers, ripe fruit and almonds. A beautifully structured wine which will reach its peak after several years in bottle

SERVING: Ideal with grilled vegetables, cheese soufflé and tasty fish dishes.

Ca' Rugate today
The new cellar was inaugurated in 2002 which began the dynamic growth of the last ten years of the estate of Ca' Rugate. The arrival of Michele brings a lively entrepreneurial spirit that has permitted its expansion and further affirms the winery both in terms of quality and organization. It is in these last years that more considerable viticulture development has taken place. From 2002 to 2008 around 30 hectors (74 acres) have been purchased in the best areas of Monteforte d'Alpone and Montecchia di Crosara which makes a total of 48 hectors (119 acres).
