Liqueur Factory Morganti
Amaro Viparo Morganti was invented and patented in 1912 by a successful pharmacist Metello Morganti.
Leggi di piùThe name of the Viparo comes from the Latin “vis pario” that is “genero forza”.
The liqueur was registered with this name in 1912 in the Gazzetta Ufficiale N.216 by the “apothecary” by Metello Morganti, founder of the historic Farmacia Morganti
located in Corso Vecchio in Terni.
It’s 1912, full Bell’Epoque, that is, in the era when there was no hostess who didn’t keep a few bottles, prepared personally, in the cupboard.
Metello Morganti realized that the mixture obtained by him could satisfy the tastes of his customers who were increasingly going to the award-winning Pharmacy Morganti to taste the specialty in very small glasses at 50 cents each.
He thought of calling his invention “Viparo”. The Viparo, besides having a very pleasant taste, possessed portentous tonic-corrobanti-digestive virtues for which it was increasingly appreciated and sought after.
The workers of the fields and workshops, the employees and the students, all the people subject to a tiring life regime, the weak and the convalescents, found in the Viparo an effective refreshment.
Amaro Viparo obtained exclusively from infusions of herbs and roots, after a period of wise aging, it matures in an exquisitely natural aperitif and digestive. Even today the principles of quality, strict and rigorous criteria of selection of herbs, are applied to the production of Viparo in the full continuation of the values of tradition.
The main roots and aromatic herbs contained are: rhubarb, thyme, nutmeg, angelica grass, bitter orange, sweet orange, sage, cinnamon, eucalyptus, anise and others… to which alcohol and caramel are added.
