When Count Loredan, after years of producing wines of extreme prestige, began to have at his disposal a vineyard patrimony of a certain maturity, in the 1960s he began to think about creating a special reserve of Rosso di Venegazzù. He came up with the idea of producing an exquisite wine in limited quantities and vintages, which soon became sought after for many special occasions, particularly in the city of Venice, and was soon appreciated worldwide. Among its first admirers were various Heads of State and in particular the French President Charles de Gaulle, in whose honour it was permanently named Head of State.

Considering the grape varieties, it comes from, we can attribute to Taglio Bordolese the characteristics of a great wine. For this reason, being a type endowed with evident and elegant tannin, it will be particularly suitable for accompanying meat-based dishes of considerable succulence, such as grilled chops, roasts, casserole dishes also spiced, in some cases, for the wines with longer ageing and therefore rounder and softer, game both fur and feathered. They are also excellent meditation wines.
