Carefully made using Sagrantino, Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. Hand-picked in crates in early October, each variety is fermented separately at a controlled temperature for 20 days. Deep red with violet hues, boasting notes of blackberry jam, red fruits under spirits and balsamic undertones. Soft tannins add exquisite flavor.

Terroir Details
Sourced from vines located at an altitude of 300/450 meters above sea level and with north-south exposure, Casafranca benefits from a unique combination of terroir that is reflected in its distinctive nuances and aromas. The density of the vines, 4,500 per hectare, and the spurred cordon training system contribute to the superior quality of the harvest.
Vinification and Aging
With a controlled yield of 70 quintals per hectare, harvesting takes place in early October, with hand picking in crates. The three varieties are fermented separately for about 20 days at a controlled temperature below 25 °C. The aging process gives additional depth to the wine. Ten percent of the mass rests in used barriques for 6 months, while the remaining 90 percent ages in stainless steel for the same period. Casafranca Rosso Umbria Fendi reaches its full expression after 3 months in bottle.

Our cellar, modern and functional, was completely renovated in 1997 and today presents inside: A vinification and storage department where there are stainless steel tanks for fermentation and storage of wines, equipped with devices for temperature regulation and automation of the pumping-over of red wines during fermentation.
