Variety: The Chiusa di Pannone exclusively cultivates Sagrantino grapes from our mass selection. This grape variety represents 100% of the production, imparting distinctive and unique characteristics to the wine.

Vineyard: Chiusa di Pannone spans an area of 2.70 hectares and was planted in 1995. Situated at an altitude of 400 meters above sea level, the vineyard enjoys a south-facing exposure, with vines planted along the slope of the land. The planting density is approximately 5,000 vines per hectare. The Pleistocene origin soil is composed of calcareous clay, enriched with gravel and fluvial-lacustrine conglomerates.

Harvest:
Typically, we hand-harvest the grapes toward the end of October, ensuring careful selection of the best fruit.

Winemaking:
The selected grapes are placed in fermentation tanks by gravity after careful sorting. Skin maceration lasts for 3-4 weeks, while malolactic fermentation occurs in wood.

Aging:
After vinification, the Sagrantino Chiusa Pannone Antonelli matures for at least 30 months in oak barrels, primarily large ones. Before bottling, it rests in concrete tanks for several months, allowing its aromas and flavors to further refine.
