Montefalco Rosso Abis Migliosi Denomination of Origin Control (DOC) is located in the picturesque province of Perugia, at the heart of Umbria, encompassing the territory of Montefalco and parts of the municipalities of Bevagna, Giano dell’Umbria, Gualdo Cattaneo, and Castel Ritaldi. This region, adorned with ancient medieval villages, features gently sloping terrains along the profiles of the higher hill ranges, creating a wide range of microclimates and cultivation conditions. Grapes: Sangiovese 70%, Merlot 20%, Sagrantino 10%

Harvest: Manual, at perfect ripeness
Vinification: 15-day skin maceration at controlled and constant temperature (25°C) with daily punch-downs, especially in the initial days
Maturation: 50% for 12 months in French oak tonneaux, 50% in stainless steel; followed by 4 months in the bottle
Alcohol Content: 14.5% vol.

We cannot talk about Umbria and Montefalco, today, without mentioning Sagrantino. A very ancient grape variety that produces red grapes with exceptional characteristics both for long aging wines and for passito wines.

Our cellar, modern and functional, was completely renovated in 1997 and today presents inside: A vinification and storage department where there are stainless steel tanks for fermentation and storage of wines, equipped with devices for temperature regulation and automation of the pumping-over of red wines during fermentation.
