The core of Sangiovese and Merlot, harvested in the second half of September, lends the wine a solid base and a vibrant character. Sagrantino, harvested later around mid-October, adds depth and complexity to the blend, creating a harmonious and unique balance.

Winemaking:

The winemaking process is an art that requires time and dedication: about two weeks of maceration followed by aging in barriques for approximately 12 months. It is here that Montefalco Rosso DOC Benincasa transforms, refining its character and developing its distinctive aromas.

Visually, this wine presents an inviting intense ruby red color, foreshadowing an aromatic bouquet of red fruits, hints of tobacco, and a subtle touch of spices. On the palate, it reveals itself as full-bodied and enveloping, with a medium intensity structure and a velvety tannin that makes it an ideal companion for a wide range of dishes.

Technical information adds further depth to your sensory experience: with a blend composed of 70% Sangiovese, 15% Sagrantino, and the remaining 15% Merlot, this wine is a true tribute to the Umbrian land, cultivated on clay-sandy Villafranchian soils.

Limited production at 80 quintals per hectare and a yield of 70% testify to the commitment to ensure the highest quality in every bottle. Aging in barriques and medium aging give Montefalco Rosso DOC Benincasa an elegant structure and a persistent character.
